Food Drive FAQs

Who can host a food drive?

Anyone! Businesses, churches, schools, neighborhoods, clubs, sports teams, offices, HOAs, and community organizations are all welcome to host a food drive in support of The Fountain Food Pantry.

How long should our food drive last?

Most food drives last anywhere from one week to one month, but you can choose whatever timeline works best for your organization. We're happy to help you plan a collection schedule.

Do you provide collection bins and promotional materials?

Yes. We can provide printable promotional materials and guidance to help you promote your food drive. We also encourage hosts to use a box, bin, or other collection container that's convenient for their location.

What foods should we collect?

Shelf-stable foods are always appreciated, including canned vegetables, canned fruit, soup, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, canned protein, boxed meals, and other non-perishable items. We'll provide an updated list of our greatest needs before your food drive begins.

Can we collect monetary donations too?

Absolutely. Many organizations choose to collect both food and financial donations. Monetary gifts help purchase fresh food, high-demand pantry items, and supplies throughout the year.

Will someone pick up the donated food?

Yes. Once your food drive is complete, we'll coordinate a convenient pickup time or arrange for your donations to be dropped off at The Fountain Church.

Why host a food drive?

Hosting a food drive is a meaningful way to bring people together while helping local families. It gives employees, students, church members, customers, or neighbors a simple way to make a real difference in the community. Many organizations also choose to make a financial donation alongside their food drive to further support The Fountain Food Pantry.
